5 years and a lifetime to go!

Last week Wayne and I spent our 5 year wedding anniversary and 7 years together in Santa Fe, New Mexico last week. We had a blast, the weather was just gorgeous and the food was amazing. I don't think I've ever eaten so much good food in all my life. We left the little munchkin-ator (his nickname) with Meme. He did wonderful and stayed on a perfect schedule, she said he does so great on it. He made his mommy so proud!

Wayne and I spent each day enjoying the magnificent weather and low humidity. We rented a scooter and drove up the hillside of a mountain. The views there are amazing. We shopped, hiked, and took in a night at the spa. The week flew by and I was very excited to see my little man at the airport. He shrilled with excitement as I turned the corner and I don't think I stopped kissing him until we reached the baggage claims area.

Truett has been doing some really cute things. His new fun thing to do is whistling... crazy I know but he can whistle better than me or Wayne! He is so funny, he mimics just about anything I do with my face or sounds that I make. He has been crawling so good, when he wants something :) He stands alone very good, for maybe 15-30 seconds (unless he's distracted). We are working on actually falling to his rear and not free falling like he's a tree!! He has taken peek-a-boo to a whole new level. He will pull his burp cloth over his face and as we say (like always) "where's Truett?" "Truett where are you?" (this is where he usually throws the cloth off, giggle, and smile, now he leaves it there for minutes until we stop talking and then he throws it off. Just to call the shots!

Since we've been home we noticed he will get his feelings hurt. We were standing in line at Chick-fil-A while Truett stared at our server for the entire time we ordered, waited, and received our food. I playfully took his hand and tapped his cheek saying "it's not polite to stare". He looked at me as if I shot his hopes and dreams, started to cry and after a moment of that he continued to stare at her until we made it to a place where she was no longer in his view.

Truett will be 8 months next week and we are having so much fun... life is good!
