5 years and a lifetime to go!

Last week Wayne and I spent our 5 year wedding anniversary and 7 years together in Santa Fe, New Mexico last week. We had a blast, the weather was just gorgeous and the food was amazing. I don't think I've ever eaten so much good food in all my life. We left the little munchkin-ator (his nickname) with Meme. He did wonderful and stayed on a perfect schedule, she said he does so great on it. He made his mommy so proud!

Wayne and I spent each day enjoying the magnificent weather and low humidity. We rented a scooter and drove up the hillside of a mountain. The views there are amazing. We shopped, hiked, and took in a night at the spa. The week flew by and I was very excited to see my little man at the airport. He shrilled with excitement as I turned the corner and I don't think I stopped kissing him until we reached the baggage claims area.

Truett has been doing some really cute things. His new fun thing to do is whistling... crazy I know but he can whistle better than me or Wayne! He is so funny, he mimics just about anything I do with my face or sounds that I make. He has been crawling so good, when he wants something :) He stands alone very good, for maybe 15-30 seconds (unless he's distracted). We are working on actually falling to his rear and not free falling like he's a tree!! He has taken peek-a-boo to a whole new level. He will pull his burp cloth over his face and as we say (like always) "where's Truett?" "Truett where are you?" (this is where he usually throws the cloth off, giggle, and smile, now he leaves it there for minutes until we stop talking and then he throws it off. Just to call the shots!

Since we've been home we noticed he will get his feelings hurt. We were standing in line at Chick-fil-A while Truett stared at our server for the entire time we ordered, waited, and received our food. I playfully took his hand and tapped his cheek saying "it's not polite to stare". He looked at me as if I shot his hopes and dreams, started to cry and after a moment of that he continued to stare at her until we made it to a place where she was no longer in his view.

Truett will be 8 months next week and we are having so much fun... life is good!

Hey everyone! It's been 7 months since Truett entered our lives, and things are now getting interesting! In the last month he has learned to crawl (better), chatter more (repeating sound or syllables I make), standing on his own for brief periods, standing on his own, and developing his own little will! He likes to "try" his momma and has had many squeezes to his hand and a few pops to his rear! I hate that part.

Our days are so busy and so fun. At the present time we spend our weekdays talking, talking, singing, talking, reading, talking, singing, reading, talking!! He will start singing if their is silence! He has become the reason I wake up and get things going so early, except for that other sweet reason (Wayne!). After getting daddy off for work we go workout (me, not Truett). There is a nice childcare facility where I go. We come home in time to read a story and put Truett down for his morning nap. The afternoon is usually spent working on "tummy time", standing, walking singing, reading, playing, and talking in Spanish. He takes a great afternoon nap and then daddy comes home and we are outside playing (it's been too hot to take him out midday) and going over to Meme's and Nana's.

Truett likes to mimic me when I say daddy he says dadada, not that he knows who that is but he still says it! He says ight when I say light, more like tttt, but hey I can exaggerate right?

I got my braces off on Monday of last week, it feels so nice. I had a couple of pieces of candy that night (that I couldn't have with braces) to commemorate the day!
Wayne and I are leaving a week from this Tuesday for our 5 year anniversary trip. I'm excited about Santa Fe. I've never been there and Wayne has only had a day trip there from a trip at Glorietta (years ago). I'm looking forward to everything we're going to do: horseback riding, hiking to the highest, Santa Fe, peak, spending an evening at the spa, strolling the plaza, and shopping. I'm a little nervous about leaving Truett, but I know he will be in good hands.

Wayne and I are looking forward to Halloween and Truett's costume, we're going to surprise Meme, Poppy, Nana, and Papa with it and will post plenty of pics. I'm looking forward to some cooler weather and the holidays that are lurking around the corner. I hope everyone is having a great Labor day weekend and BE SAFE! Stay in touch for more adventures of our little guy!

Truett and his sweet life!

Truett is 29 weeks old today, he will be 7 months next Saturday. He is so big and often gets mistaken for an older baby. Usually someone will say "Is he 8 or 9 months old?" and one lady even thought he might have been 1 year old!! I think to myself is he really that big! I don't think so, I know he is big but not THAT big. He is roughly 19.5 lbs. and still 29.5 inches. He is between the 95th and 100th percentile for his height and between the 75th and 90th percentile for his weight. So, he is a biggen, but not monstrous.

Our lives have been so full. Truett is the highlight of our day and when we collapse at night we are so inspired to do it again the next day. He is in bed and asleep between 8:30-9 pm and wakes between 7:30-8 am. Sometimes I have to wake him up because it has been 12 hours. He also takes a two hour nap in the morning (from 10-12) and then again from 2-4 pm. He also takes a 45-1 hour cat nap after supper (from 6-6:45). He needs his sleep for the adventures of the day. He is on hands and knees and has scooted several times but not fully "crawling" as Wayne says so! He is babbling so much. We work on talking and singing constantly. He says "dadadada" mostly.

He is not really a momma's boy or a daddy's boy. He wants both of us all the time! He lights up when daddy gets home, he starts to squeal and about jumps out of my arms. Wayne can't even put this things down.

Wayne is working from Louisiana now. He works for an independent company here and travels around the state unless we have a hurricane and then we're off! We are actually hoping for one now. He usually gets Friday off because he works so hard during the week (45+ hours just Mon.- Thurs.). Hopefully we can do this a few more years.

I've just about put away all of "Truett's" weight! I go back to my OB/GYN on Tuesday next week and will find out the verdict of how much but all of my prepreg jeans fit. I feel like another 2 pounds will have me back at my "fighting" weight, which was 104. I'm not stuck on numbers but hope to be within a pound or two of that when all is said and done. I have worked my butt off to get back into those "skinny" jeans. I work out usually 5 days a week and have been on a low carb high protein meal plan. I have to say it is hard work but I love seeing results. Once I hit my target I will go back to working out 3-4 days a week and just watching what I eat.

6 months! I can't believe how time flies!

I can't believe this past Wednesday, the 25th, Truett turned 6 months old. Wow! He is scooting backwards. Sitting up is his favorite pastime. He only occasionally falls. Today, Saturday, Truett has been having a bout of allergies, runny nose, coughing, and sneezing then add to it the teething (diarrhea and drooling). He is such a trooper though, he woke up 2-3 times for 2-3 nights and that was it. Now he is back to 11 hours of nonstop sleep. Truett gets up on his hands and knees only to jump onto his stomach.

Wayne bought Truett a kiddie pool and we have enjoyed the mess out of it. Truett thinks he is so big to be in there with us. He loves spending the day with mommy but when daddy gets home it is "mommy, who?". I can't blame him though, I love seeing him, too! We are STILL planning our 5 year wedding anniversary trip. We started off wanting to go to Puerto Vallarta or Costa Rica and now it's turned into a weekend bed and breakfast or getaway trip. I'm not complaining, but right now I have a list a mile long on things I want or need, like family pictures, clothes, a day at the spa, makeup, more clothes for Truett and just a day off! Enjoy the new pictures and I'll keep you in touch!

24 weeks, an amazing life!

Truett is 24 weeks today and 5 1/2 months old. He has been sitting up all by himself for about 1 week. He falls occasionally, but definitely stays up more and more everyday! He loves his bath time and his daddy's attention. I have such a
blast with my little "man". He flirts with me and I eat it up. I love when he puts his hands on both sides of my face and pulls me into his face. Only to blow "kisses" at me, really he just spits. It's the most precious spit I've ever known :).

Truett's cousin Kerigan came to see us this week and we enjoyed seeing her and her mommy and daddy. We loved on them for a couple of days and hated to see them leave. The next time they'll see each other they will probably crawling...it's hard to believe!

We went to a family reunion last Saturday and saw Wayne's grandparent's relatives. They didn't even know who everyone is! We took a picture of 4 generations of Mullins men!

Truett is growing so much everyday. He is over 18 lbs. and is 28 inches tall. I think we have a giant on our hands. He's so tall! He is sleeping 10-11 hours every night and loves his sleep time. It makes for such a sweet little boy. Thank God for Babywise!! It makes parenting so much easier.

Truett wants to crawl, but hadn't figured out his knees and legs can move at the same time his arms move. He pushes up with his arms until he is up on his knees but then he gets frustrated. He can move his whole body by his arms, usually in a circle. He makes us laugh constantly, he is so smart (of course).

I have been working out and trying to get this body back in to tip top shape, it's going well. I just never thought it would take so much time and effort. I can't blame all of it on Truett. I am almost in all of my pre preg outfits but definitely don't look the same in the outfit. I am working at it and I know it takes time and lots and lots of hard work. Not like it would kill me to be this size, but I really don't want to have to buy a whole new wardrobe!!

5 months old!

Today Truett is 5 months old, he's 21.5 weeks old. He is so verbal and is so much fun! I say this all the time but I can't help myself, mommy hood is the hardest thing I've ever done and the

most rewarding.
I have Christmas morning every morning and the challenges of a baby waking up in the middle of his nap or fussing for no reason at all or trying to figure out what he could possibly be fussing about is all in a day's work. Sometimes when people ask me what am I doing now and I reply "THIS!" I can't imagine anyone being able to do anything but this! I know it has it's ups and downs and sometimes I wish I were working just to get a little break, I think about this child growing up without the guidance of my unconditional love and help and know that I'm exactly in the place I'm meant to be. There is no job in the world worth it. I know this calling of "mommy hood" is a high calling and I intend to take it with the highest regard. I have so much respect for the mother's in the world and daddy's. I know Wayne works so hard to provide for us and he comes home and plays his heart out with Truett. Sometimes I know he's exhausted and yet he keeps going. He amazes me!! I melt when I see him and Truett together. I think those two are more alike than they will ever know, and I'm the lucky woman who gets to be apart of their lives.

September will mark mine and Wayne's 5 years married and 7 years together anniversary, we hope to go to a beach in Mexico and are still in the planning stages. I can't wait to get away for a while but I know I'll be ready to get back and see Truett.

Truett is turning over and sitting up momentarily on his own. He enjoys his walker and play mat, he still hates "tummy time". He "crawls" around in a circle, not moving his knees, but moving his body in a circular motion by using his arms. We went last Tuesday for a checkup and he is 17 lbs. and 26 3/4 inches!! He's a biggen! Hope to write more and soon!
