Truett had a new friend come and play today...

** WARNING** These pictures might give you the squirmies ( I know this isn't a word, but you get what I'm saying)

... a snake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was outside with Truett, when I noticed the gardenia bushes that Wayne cut a few weeks back still had some dead branches that hadn't been removed. So, with Truett in tow I begin pulling one after another. As most of you know, you can not keep a 16 month still. He wanted down and so, like a good mother, I let him down. I turned around to pick up more dead branches and my eyes turned to the fence about 12-18 inches from me to see what I now think is a Louisiana Pine Snake. AHHHHHHHH! I ran so fast, I think I grabbed Truett by his shirt. Wayne, laughs at me thinking about it.

What it looks like to be "in a mood"

Truett is a bright, cheerful, sweet boy so when he is in "a mood" it is ALMOST cute! Here are a few pictures of him after his nap and eating a small snack of "fishy".

Switchfoot, Narnia, C.S. Lewis

Last weekend Wayne and I saw The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. If you have read C.S. Lewis' series you know what an awesome author he is and how his fiction books parallel the Christian life. The movie doesn't show all of the greatness of the Narnia series. Anyway, I will suggest the movie, just know it would be MUCH better just like the book!

Switchfoot has a song and video that goes with the movie/book. Wayne and I love Switchfoot's music. Have a look at their video. Just a tip: Hit stop on the music playing on the left hand margin.

Our first flight...with Truett

Wayne and I love to fly, we've been on many, many trips and enjoy the whole process (well most of it) of flying. We are early risers so getting up an hour or two earlier than normal is fine by us. We love the airports and as long as we are not short on time, due to flight delays or something like that, we enjoy our flights. Even when Wayne was in Indianapolis and I was flying back and forth between there and home for baby showers and doctor's appointments and Wayne would fly in for a long weekend, we loved it! We (Wayne and I) went on our first trip after Truett was born last September for our anniversary and haven't been on a airplane since. This summer we have decided to take our first "family vacation" to visit Uncle Scott and Aunt Becca in North Carolina. Truett will be 19 months and we have no plans of spending 16 driving hours with a toddler.

We've booked a flight along with Mrs. Kim and Mr. Larry (Wayne's parents) and have decided Truett needs to "experience" flying also. We hope he loves it as much as we do, and we plan to make it a special time for him. We will bring all of his favorite snacks and juice and plan to buy him a few special toys for the flights. We have one stop in Atlanta. We also might bring a mini dvd player (if anyone wants to let us borrow theirs so we don't have to buy one that would be AWESOME). He doesn't watch any television except for on Sunday mornings when we turn on LPB during his alone/playpen time. We hope it is conflict free and relaxing, SO, this is where you come in! Let us know what has worked for you on trips. What do I need to absolutely bring and what can I get away with not bringing. I will bring a light stroller and car seat, should I bring a pack n play (he won't have a crib when we get there). Any advice would be great!!! I know August seems far away, but trust me this year has already FLOWN by!

Say what?

I tell you, Truett's vocabulary has exploded. I think in the last 2 weeks he adds probably 2 words (that he actually can point to or touch) a day. I'm going to use the blog as his Baby Book and try to think of all the words he is using right now. He still doesn't say ALL of them perfect (like kitty cat is keeky).

daddy

mommy

kitty cat

dog

bone (for the dogs)

outside

broom

tree

bubbles

SHOES

paw paw

maw maw

NO!

No! No! (there is a difference)

juice

coffee

candle

uh-oh!

baby

Oh! Wow! (together!!)

"that's a No No!"

He has started saying two word statements in the last week or so, I'm excited about his newfound communication skills. He seems to be also, he talks and talks... I wonder where he gets it from :)

I've been telling you how he is obsessed with his daddy. Well, it gets worse (or better depending on who you ask), he talks about him all day long. He wakes up saying daddy and pointing to every room. We both walk in the room and look around, daddy is usually gone already, but there is a rare occasion of Wayne working from home or sometimes he will wait to get him up and bring him to me for breakfast! Truett is such a daddy's man right now. He wants to do what he does and be with him at all times. It reminds me of how much I want to be like my heavenly father and that he is my everything!

Almost a year ago! He is his daddy's best buddy!

it's enough to make me want 10 more!!!!!!!!!!!!

All in God's perfect timing!

Mother's Day Weekend

was wonderful! Saturday was spent shopping for decoration for our back bathroom. We came home to put Truett down for a nap and we, me and Wayne, ended up taking a 1.5 hour nap ourselves. Truett, of course, sleeps longer (3-3.5 hours) but it was so refreshing! Sunday, we went to church, came home took another nap (this NEVER happens!), made a fruit cookie cake and headed out for Mother's Day Crawfish Boil over at Wayne's aunt. We had a blast. We sat in the lukewarm whirlpool (so the little ones could get in) and the big kids swam in the pool. We ate, and ate, and ate and then visited until it was the little man's bed time! We got to meet Jordan, Billy and Nancy's little girl. She was precious! Happy 1st Mother's Day, Nancy! It was such a sweet time of family.

What we've been doing!

Outside and lots of it! We love going over to "G-Maws" as Truett calls Wayne's grandma. This was about 4 weeks ago after picking up Maw Maw's (Wayne's mom) new kitten.

Truett has had eczema since October. Our pediatrician said it would go away when it turned warmer. Now it is HOT and his eczema is getting WORSE! Let me know if any of you have a remedy for this awful looking skin problem! It doesn't seem to bother him though!

Mr. Fix It

Yesterday we began to tackle our long awaited remodeling project, our back bathroom. It's the smallest room in the house and the most overlooked room. It was an awful pinkish purple color and no one but us ever use that bathroom. SO... Wayne, Truett, and I visited Lowe's and came home with a new bathroom. We spent the majority of the evening installing the new floor (Wayne mainly installing and me just keeping Truett from being under his feet). Today, Sunday we came home to work on it some more. Truett tries to be such a help, and LOVES thinking he is daddy's BIG helper.

Weekly Wrap-Up Without Lens

We have been under the weather this week. We have stayed home and made sweet memories while babysitting Maw Maw's kitty cat and taking more baths than normal. I've only manage to workout twice but I don't feel so bad about it. Truett has been so much fun this week. He seems to be sweeter than normal when he doesn't feel the greatest. He snuggles and hold on a little tighter.

Today, Truett has taken a turn for the better. He has no fever, a little runny nose, but nothing significant. Thank goodness too, I REALLY didn't want to cancel Parent's Night Out reservations. Wayne and I are going out to eat and visit with some friends from church, Challie and Jeffrey.

Truett has been soaking everything up, like sounds of animals. He hasn't showed any interest in knowing or repeating these sounds until just recently. He likes to say "ooooo" for mooooo (Cow sounds) and says "kikkky" (sounds like keee keee) and raises his arms out as if he were asking a question! He misses Ody. He had been pointing out all kinds of things in books that I had no clue he could do. He picks the kitty cat out as well as any ball, balloon, color, chair, shoes, bear (teddy bear), scissors, blocks, or book. I guess I was so use to his eyesight being dull or not so good when he was so little I now underestimate what he can see and can't. I know his eyesight is as well as mine, well not quite, but almost! :)

This was Truett almost a year ago!

Late March or was it early April?
