32 weeks and going home :(

I began my 32nd week on Tuesday of this week! I can't believe I will have this little man within the next 5-10 weeks. I'm excited about going home for the shower and appointments but I'm so bummed about leaving Wayne here in Indy again! But not long at all until he's home, at least for Christmas. We hope he's home for good by the 20th of January because I'll be 38 weeks, and we don't want him to miss a moment of Truett's arrival. I can't believe when I get home I'll only have 2 weeks left to shop. I usually have all my shopping done by now, but it's kinda hard when your thousands of miles away from home and no way to get presents home if I buy them here!

My last shower is this weekend and my 32 week appointment is on Monday with my OB. I can't wait, it's been 6 weeks since I've been. So this should be interesting with my weight and belly measurement. I'll keep you posted. My goal weight is 123 lbs., last time I was 117 and I'm trying to keep a pace of about 1 lb. per week. If I hit my goal then I'll have gained 19 lbs. at 32 weeks, sounds good to me. I do feel like I've gained at least that much. I've been having a rough time at night, I guess that's God's way of getting me prepared. I now have to sleep on my sides there is no way around it. If I sleep on my back I can't breathe well, he puts pressure on my lungs. I won't even discuss sleeping on my tummy, I feel like I'm squishing him and me, although I did sleep on my belly until about 25 weeks. That is also about when I started to show 25-27 weeks. Now at 32 weeks I toss from one side to the other, and wake up each time I do. I feel like I'm pulling something if I lay on one side too long. SO that's the whiny pregnant lady's complaints.

I am so excited to see the finish line. I'm not going to have a camera for a while, I'll be at home with only a 35mm. But I'll try to get some shower pics and develop them for this blog. I hope everybody has a great weekend!

Cyber Monday and 31 weeks!

Well yesterday was suppose to be the biggest online shopping day of the year! Did you get some great deals, I know I looked but couldn't decide on anything. We also went "shopping" this past weekend and came away empty handed because we are not sure if Wayne will be able to drive home for the holidays or fly. If he drives in then he will stay at home, if he doesn't have his release date then he'll fly in and fly out for the holidays. So, we don't want to buy gifts up here only to have to ship them back home. Plus we really didn't like anything we saw.

Today I begin my 31st week, less than 10 weeks to go. Anywhere from 6-12 weeks away from a babino. Hopefully about 8 weeks is what we are hoping for. I go for my next prenatal on Dec. 11th and will be 33 weeks then, I'll also go two weeks later and then every week to see if I'm dilating or effaced. How exciting, j/k! I know then labor will be shortly thereafter. Yikes! I'm not ready. I still have all of my Christmas shopping and one last shower. I need to get my hospital bag together and all the last minute things for Truett. I'm ready to finally see the little monkey that's been moving constantly.

I read somewhere that I'm suppose to feel him move something like 10 times an hour. That would definitely be an understatement. I could probably count 10 times in 2-5 minutes at any given time. At night he slows down after I fall asleep, well, I guess he does because he doesn't wake me up. Then when I eat breakfast at 6:45 a.m. he's back at it, all day long!

I'm going to post a picture of my belly from the front, that is where I see the biggest expansion, he sits sooo low in my tummy that I'm afraid he will come out when he "drops".

Happy Thanksgiving and 30 weeks!!!

Sorry it's been awhile since I've posted anything. I have been home and without a digital camera and the "film" camera's battery is dead and we didn't have an extra one at the house. So, I made it back to see my hunny in Indianapolis. We will spend Thanksgiving together but without the rest of our families. While I was at home my sister and I had a baby shower. We had a great time together and was very sad to see that time pass so fast. I flew into Indianapolis last Monday and it was so great to see my baby (Wayne). I know when this baby (Truett) gets here it will be confusing because Wayne is my baby but Truett will be the baby, see why it's confusing.

Today I began my 30th week and I'm definitely popping, or at least it feels like it is. I had a good bit of discomfort yesterday and think it's because Truett is growing and my muscles and ligaments are having to cooperate with him. This week he should be roughly 3 lbs. and 14 inches long. WOW!! We almost have a newborn. Keep on growing little man! He should put on 6-8 ounces every week, so about a half of a pound each and every week. Now I know why I am stretching my ligaments. But, hey no sign of stretch marks -yet anyways! I've kept my skin hydrated but the water and weather up here are so different, it dries my skin out so bad. Wayne says his is dried out too.

Wayne heard yesterday that they are going to be closing the CAT office here soon. So, we are thinking around Christmas they will close everything down. A girl that got here the same day as Wayne got her release date, but no word on Wayne's release date. We will be ecstatic if he comes home for Christmas. I promised my OB I would not come back up here after my next appointment on Dec. 11th. I will be 33 weeks and will feel better knowing I'm closer to my home. I also have a baby shower on Dec. 9th, the day after I get back home. This is Wayne's side of the family and friends. I hope to keep you more updated now. So stay tuned.

Home... and missing Wayne!

So, I won't bore you with a sap story about missing my hunny. I went to the OB yesterday with my mother in law. I passed my glucose (diabetes) test and my blood count was borderline anemic, even after taking an iron pill every night. She said she is really glad I did start, but might need to double up closer to delivery time. We got to see Truett also. The ultrasound tech was a little nicer this time and she checked off the last couple of things she needed to make sure Truett had (3 vessel umbilical cord) and his heart rate was great! He weighed 1lb. 15 oz. and was only in the 35th percentile (he's going to be a small fry). She said he is growing just fine. She also said the average baby is now 8-8.5 lbs., so I should have a upper 6lb.- upper 7 lb. baby, if I go close to my due date. Let's hope so!! I also hit my weight goal, 117 lbs., that's 13 total. She also said because I get shaky as soon as I become hungry I probably am a little hypoglycemic. I carry a granola bar around with me at all times and she said "just make sure you eat soon or you'll pass out". That scared Mrs. Kim, but I reassured both of them I eat as soon as I'm hungry.

I went to my orthodontist today and had my braces tightened (yikes!!), and will get my bottom braces put on after my next appointment.

Wayne comes home in 2 days, that will be so nice. He gets 4 days off after working 30 days, almost straight (excluding Sunday's). He is excited about playing basketball and seeing his family and friends.

I will post a picture next time.... hopefully!! I don't have the digital camera with me.

I'm coming home!

Today I'm 26 weeks and I'll be leaving Indianapolis,IN on Friday, boo! I will be back home for a few doctor's appointments and a couple of showers. I'm giving a shower on one weekend and getting my first baby shower on the other! Wayne will come in on one of the weekends! I'll leave to come back to Indianapolis in 2 weeks, yay! I should be up here until early December and have to travel back home because I'll be 33 weeks along! I'm so excited about seeing Truett in the sonogram on Monday. I can't wait to see how much he's grown and talk about him coming quickly. I will give you more updates when I go to the doctor. Oh yea, this week up here in Indianapolis the high will be in the mid- to upper- 40's!! YIKES!

25 weeks along and sitting in the cold!

Yay... someone noticed! On Tuesday I began my 25th week and someone asked me "are you pregnant", I happily replied "YES!". That just made my day, maybe even my week! We have been here now for two weeks and the cold is miserable. I always said I love winter, but back home our winter consisted of 1-3 weeks like this. Here they have about 6 months of nasty, cold, and wet weather, yuck. Wayne has been working long days and long weeks. He definitely gets to do a ton of work while on a CAT. I don't think people understand the nature of his job. He works 10-15 hour days (depending if it's a new CAT or not), 6-7 days a week (depending on if it's a new CAT or not) and he may work 3-6 months, straight. Then he might be home for 2-4 months, but he never knows when they'll call or for how long he'll be gone. He had to leave within 24 hours this time and it wasn't even a new CAT (Catastrophe site). So he more than makes up for his down time. It's definitely not the job for a family man, we don't think Wayne will be here too terribly long. With Truett on the way it makes things hard for him to be there for all the new things that will surely happen! So, I go back home next Friday and see my ob the next Monday, I'll find out my weight gain, belly growth, get to see Truett, and take the glucose screening. I'll also be home for my first shower, I'll be 28 weeks! Yay!! Well, that's about it for now.

New belly pic!

Hello everyone- This is me at 24 weeks . MAN if he isn't growing than it's just me!!! I think people might be noticing I'm pregnant (they're still unsure to ask though) because I have seen a couple people look at my belly then look at me and smile.....I'm hoping that's what they're thinking. Well, I think Wayne will be here for a while. I'm going home for good early December and hopefully Wayne will be home shortly after (we're hoping before Christmas or right after). So he should definitely be home for Truett's arrival. He gets more and more excited as my belly grows. I think it becomes more real that there is a living breathing munckin in there. He gets to feel him kick at night laying in bed.... I'll spare you the sappy stuff. He is going to be a phenomenal daddy!! Truett thinks so already. I'll update you more with more pics hopefully this weekend. We are suppose to go to Indianapolis sometime this weekend. Take care

Indianapolis, HERE WE COME!!

So, Monday we got the call, Wayne was being deployed to Indianapolis, IN. For those of you who do not know, Wayne works with the CAT team for State Farm. He averages 180 CAT days which would,if he worked an 8-5, be 53 weeks of 40 hrs.. So, he works a great long time at the CAT sites. Indianapolis was hit back in April with a hail storm and then again in June. He is working in the Customer Service area closing files. He said it's not as bad as New Orleans. We are staying at the Residence Inn Marriott which is very nice compared to New Orleans great hotel. We actually have a kitchen and space to put our suitcases. You see our bedroom area, the room is a pretty big size. I'd say 400-600 sq. ft., just guessing though.

.

I began my 23rd week earlier in the week and have felt like I've doubled in size (my belly). Wayne says not really!! I put a picture of me last night after we got in from Barnes and Nobles. We were able to go after Wayne got off of work. We couldn't take one together because the digital does not have a timer, but maybe we can take some pics with the regular camera and I can put them on here later. The picture of Wayne was after we got home (to the hotel) and he was working on the computer. He never poses for me! Most days this week I have spent a good bit of time rearrange my doctor's appointments and itinerary when I go back home in a couple of weeks. I also spend a great deal of time reading, writing in my journal and working out. I usually have some "to do" list from Wayne on helping him write some website pages for him and a friend. So, I don't usually finish everything for the day until about an hour before he comes home and then I usually spend that time getting ready for when he gets home (we usually go somewhere).

22 weeks and growing!!

It's been a few days since I wrote and I have grown a good bit (or it feels like it). I am in my 22nd week and in my 6th month. I feel Truett all day long. In the morning while lying in bed he gives me a few "good morning" bumps and by lunch time he gives me a jab or kick to let me know he enjoyed our peanut butter and jelly sandwhich. Last Thursday while Wayne and I was at my parents for supper, mom had lots of stuff to go through. We went through all kinds of clothes, hats, bibs, blankets, and more. We got this cute baby's tub that one of my nephew's used, that's one less thing on our registry.

Also, last Tuesday while we were at Wayne's parents, his mom gave us several packages of diapers, several reading books, and this precious outfit. Do you like it?
This is a picture of me from this morning after breakfast. Truett lets me know he is always with me. I began my 22nd week of pregnancy Tuesday the 26th.

This is one of the outfits we received from my nephews. The more we get the better, I know that little one will need to be changed often.
I hope everyone is doing good and have a great beginning of fall time!!!!!!!!!!

21 weeks!!

I'm in my 21st week and I'm feeling Truett every other minute it seems like. It is so amazing to feel him move and become so active. I wonder what his personality will be like: maybe strong-willed and loud or maybe soft spoken and shy.... either way I'm sure he'll liven up this home!! I found out yesterday that my sister who is expecting just a couple weeks after me is having a girl!! This will be the first grand daughter on my parents side... how exciting! I'm a little jealous, I wanted little girly dresses and cute outfits, and she wanted camaflouge and hunting gear....... God is so funny sometimes. I'm glad he sees the whole picture and doesn't give us what we want at the time we want it! I know when Truett and Kerigan arrive that we (my sister and I) will not be able to picture our lives without these two being exactly who they are.

I'm planning to have Truett au naturalle so I've been reading up on this for the last 5 months. I've read some really great information and if anyone else out there is going to go natural I highly recomend these 2 books:The Birth Book by William Sears,M.D & Martha Sears, R.N. AND Child Birth Without Fear by Grantly Dick-Read . Both are fabulous but if your looking for a week-by-week description of what you and wour baby are going through of course you will want to read What to Expect When Your Expecting but my favorite week-by-week- reading was Frankly Pregnant. I am about to read Husband-Coached Childbirth by Dr. Robert Bradley. My doctor tells me to read up on the natural labor subject, so I'm spending most of my time right now reading.

Halfway there!!!!!

Yay!! Today marks the 140th day I've been pregnant and just another 140 days or so until our little man is here!! We have almost completed our unpacking stage for our new house. We moved in on August 31st and have everything unpacked and ready except for Wayne's office. Although we are close there are still those small items in a couple of boxes. We spent this weekend looking for a rocking chair cushion (who knew it would be a hunt!!). Everywhere we looked the cushions were just throw pillows and no rocking chair cushion in sight. We found the one at Pier One after looking at Target, Hobby Lobby, Hancock Fabric, Wal-Mart and a few other places... so see what you think. Also take a look at my growing bump. The picture was taking today after returning from working out. Wayne and I go every Mon., Wed., and Friday to the Athletic Club at LC from 12pm-2 p.m and I go with Wayne's mom later in the day on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Wayne plays basketball with some older and sometimes younger men. I usually strike up a conversation or listen to my ipod on an elliptical machine.

Truett's traveling system

We celebrated our 4 year anniversary on Wednesday the 13th. My gift was for the baby (I enjoyed it more than buying something for myself). We bought a velour feeling blanket that will feel nice come Jan./ Feb., a changing table pad, changing table pad cover, and a traveling system (car seat and stroller). The same stroller was on sale at Target for 189.99 (regular 219.99) and we found the exact stroller system in a blue/ grey color for 130.00 at Big Lots. WOW!!! The one at Target was a greenish color and both Wayne and I liked this one much better. See what you think.

The colors on this blanket are a little distorted, but you get the jist.
The color on the carseat is more grayish than blue, so the color on here is not the EXACT color, but it's close.
The seat locks in so easily (once you know how). It took us a while because we did not read the instructions. I highly recommend that, it would have saved us a good 15-20 minutes.

This is the stroller alone. It has two large cup holders in the back and a compartment for things like cellphone, chapstick, lotion, etc (it could fit a good bit). It has a hanging compartment for things such as diapers, extra personal items for you (it's a good size) and then the underneath basket which is good for diaper bags, shopping bags, extra blankets, etc. Well this is what we have so far, stay close for more of Truett's arrival.

Truett's room

Truett's room is constantly growing now! We are making sure we get as much done now in the room as possible because Wayne's job requires us to be away from home often and for a long period of time. So, we are trying to get everything done while we can. Here are a few pictures of his halfway completed room. We still need lots of wall decor and a bookshelf to put all of his books. We also need a swing, but hopefully we'll get some of that stuff at our showers. We just remodeled the floors , repainted the walls, trim, and ceiling.

Here is more detail of his bedding. We bought it from KMart during their baby sale it was $45 for the bumper pad, fitted sheet, skirt, and comforter.

This is Truett's little rocking chair table for us to read and rock. The rocking chair is Wayne's old rocking chair his mom use to rock him in. We have it (no pics yet) and are going to have to stain it some.
This is an old dresser/mirror we bought at a flea market for $55, real wood and in very good condition. We had priced dressers/ changing tables and they were close to $200 dollars (and probably not real wood). We painted it from white to antique white and apply the scallops you see to turn it into a changing table. We will probably hang the mirror over the table.
This is the dresser/changing table with the pad and cover on it. The space you see to the left of the pad is going to be for the extras (wipes, baby powder, etc.). We hope to hang a diaper stacker on the left of the table.

We hung his name above the bed, we are trying to add some color to the room with wall decor and maybe even the bookshelf.

The weight comes in at.........

111 lbs.!!!! My target weight for this visit was 112 lbs., but I'll take it!!! The doctor tells me I'm doing great. I've gained 7-8 lbs. total and I'm half way to a little baby boy. I know I'll gain more in my last half then my first but golly I don't want to gain 20 lbs. in one month. Grow Truett, grow....... just not toooo big!!! We also started working on Truett's room (NOW THAT WE KNOW HE'S A HE). My dad also had his 50th bday party and my sister who is pregnant and due 2 weeks after me came (we haven't seen each other since announcing our pregnancy). All of my siblings (2 sisters and 2 brothers) were there. We had my dad's family over for grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, and sausage. We had a blast. My dad was so surpised and this is the kind of party he likes (low key and family oriented). The picture below is of me with my older sisters and two cousins. My oldest sister (pregnant) on the far left, my older sister (by 15 months), me, and my 2 older cousins.

We are having a .........................

Boy!! Beside having a really big terd for a ultrasound tech, we had a great time. Knowing now that it's a boy growing inside me and he's a good weight. He is 40th percentile for his weight (8 oz.) and all his fingers and toes were there. Not to mention his oh so cute profile. I hope he looks like his daddy!! We are naming him Truett Scott or Truett Jackson, we're not 100% on which one.

Look at that thing grow!!!!!! It feels like I'm carrying lots more weight, we shall see at the next Dr's visit. Grow Truett, Grow!!! This is me at 19 weeks.

Ultrasound pictures!!

This is our little peanut. We can see the legs, arms, head, body, and yolk sac. I can't believe how much of a little person he looks. In all the science books they look like fish or tadpoles..... I think they are dead wrong.

WOW!! Just a few weeks and now we can see the umbilical cord, legs, hands, nose, and mouth. My uterus is getting a lot bigger but the baby is still tiny!! In 2 months we'll find out the gender!!!!

13 weeks and 1 day, Am I really pregnant?

Am I really pregnant? My pants are starting to get tight but goodness, nothing else reminds me I'm pregnant! Maybe I'm just putting on weight... but my doctor says she can hear the baby's heart. So, I guess it just takes a while to feel pregnant. No nausea, no food cravings, no awful things I've been warned about. Last doctor's visit I put on 1 lb. from my normal weight.... but I think I'm starting to put more on. We shall see. Wayne says he can't tell I'm growing anywhere, I wonder how long before I start to "show". I've been writing in my pregnancy journal for my little girl/boy, one day they will be able to know everything I went through during the pregnancy and labor, where we lived, what our normal daily routine was before their arrival. So we had an ultrasound at 8 1/2 weeks and then at my last appointment 11 weeks (my doctor orders lots.... I'm sure for me and not the money!!). I'll post the ultrasounds on a different blog, stay tuned!!!!!!

How and when we found out we were expecting!!

We were in Bloomington, IL for Wayne's work when I realized I was late starting my monthly. I thought I was only 1-2 days late but then I added it up and it was more like 5. I immediately thought it was due to me getting off the pill that same month. I had heard that after you get off sometimes you will have abnormal monthly cycles. I talked it over with Wayne and we decided I would pick up a pregnancy test the next day while he was at work. I couldn't wait the next day until he got home so as soon as I returned from the store I took the test. The line was so faint I took 2 more tests and both came back with even darker lines. I was surprised, excited, scared, and worried. When I talked with Wayne (before he came back from work) about the tests and he said "nah, it's probably wrong... try another test". I said I would and by the time he was back at the hotel I had another test completed and I was definitely pregnant. We talked and talked, we were thinking we were not going to become pregnant for 2-5 months. This was the 1st month off the pill. Then after discussing everything and knowing God controls everything, we just said "Oh well, this is what God wanted for us" and were fine with it all. We did not tell anyone because we wanted to see the OB and make sure he/she was in there and ok. We figured after 12 weeks or the first ultrasound and then tell everyone. It was June 3, 2006 when we found out, I was 5 weeks pregnant.
