A long time coming...

Sorry I've been gone so long. Our home (desktop) computer is on the verge of a meltdown, so I have to get on Wayne's laptop. He has been working like a wild man, so I was forced to only look at other blogs :) Well, hopefully I can keep you updated, I just might have to wait until Wayne is asleep. We enjoyed our vacation in Florida. Truett loved seeing the beach and was quite exhausted after a 7 hour drive and a long lunch break in the middle. He NEVER fell asleep on the way to the beach but he did get a good nap on the way home! I will try to not bore you with too many pictures, but what fun would a blog be without them!

Truett woke up ready for the beach, but until mommy and daddy were ready Truett enjoyed watching Mickey and Donald!

Truett and Paw Paw made a HUMONGOUS sand castle... I should have taken a picture when they finished it! Paw Paw had a moat and everything around it!
Hey, Mommy!!

He didn't know if he like the sand at first, he said there were ant beds everywhere (he thinks all sand, must be ant beds). He soon realized it's like dirt and began to LOVE the sand!

Summer Vacation

We didn't think this was something we could afford. With a new baby on the way and lots of planning and preparing the last thing on our mind was a vacation. My mother-in-law has been asking us to go with her to the beach. She is so sweet and always offers to pay for everything, not something we let her do. She said she was going to the beach for her upcoming wedding anniversary and wanted us to go, we joked about it and then she said "let's go book something". I did some research and found that we could stay somewhere pretty nice for 3 nights for about $600 but THEN we found a really nice place for 7 nights at $ 995. So, 4 extra nights and less than $400 extra bucks... we were stoked! A family vacation!!!!!!!! So we are leaving in less than 2 weeks to Destin, FL.

Playdate

Truett and I have really enjoyed growing and getting to know a few ladies and their little girls from church, and just recently an old friend and her little girl. Truett is surrounded by little girls, maybe that's why he says he's having a baby sister.

Look at Maddie posing!
Almost a perfect shot!

A baby boy, named Noah...

After reading an article from defendingcontending.com I wanted to post this blog. It's about Noah, a 5 month old that was shaken by it's caregiver while mom and dad were away. If you feel led please pray for this little one and his parents. I can only imagine what they might be going through.

Poison Ivy/Oak

Truett loves to play outside, especially in wooded areas. So, I was not at the least surprised by this new rash. We will just take it easy for the next few days, I know it's not contagious now, but he's pretty uncomfortable by the rash and all it's itching. We are enjoying some extra baths and television.

11 weeks...

I definitly feel bigger this go round! It's like my body remembers and kind of gives to the memory. I'm not complaining, I actually felt the little one this past week and remember this feeling although it becomes more pronounced and stronger. It is reassuring although it is few and far between right now. I can't wait until I feel the hiccups and the rolling around. I have been trying not to say this, but I've been nauseated. I was NOT nauseated with Truett, unless you count the hunger pangs that turned into nausea. I just started about 10 weeks along and it has been coming and going. Now, I haven't thrown up or anything, but it's a come and go feeling. I don't know why I would have it this time and not the last, but like people say "each pregnancy is different". Hopefully this pregnancy will be as smooth as my last one. Last pregnancy I had some spotting at 8 and a half weeks and none this time.

What Truett likes to do for fun...

jump on our bed..... naked! We usually take off his pants and his shirt (because he gets so hot jumping and playing on our bed). He doesn't like us to stop there, he ALWAYS wants his diaper off. I guess it's a free feeling. Here are the G-Rated pictures.

3 reasons I want a VBAC...

Many think I'm a little silly to want to try a vbac (vaginal birth after cesarean). It would be nice to go ahead and schedule this little one's birthdate. I would even have the baby a week or two earlier perhaps then if I just waited on him/her.

1. It's the natural way. Natural birth is the best birth for you and for your baby. Despite what you might be told all medication (including epidural) has an affect on your baby. The medications used during birth cross to your baby and change the way your body responds to labor. Pain medications can affect your labor — your blood pressure may drop, your labor may slow down or speed up, you may become nauseous, and you may feel a sense of confusion and lack of control. With Truett I read "Childbirth without fear" and "The Birth Book", they both had lots of great information. With this one I'm reading "The Silent Knife", lots of information, I do take the information that seems to pertain to me and keep an open mind.

2. It's safer than a repeat cesarean. Women who have cesareans suffer from more infertility than women who have vaginal births. This infertility is related directly to the physical effects of the surgery. There is a higher risk of blot clots following a c-section than a vaginal birth. The severity and length of pain after a cesarean is much greater than after a vaginal birth.
The risk of maternal death is higher. 4 times more likely to die after having a c-section than after giving birth naturally.

3. Recovery is faster. Typically days (1-7) with vaginal birth v/s 4-6 weeks with Cesarean.

These are a few of my reasons to want to go naturally this time. Last time I wanted to do it naturally and did not get the opportunity, I'm really looking forward to working with midwives and Lord-willing I will go naturally this time.

More to come on natural childbirth. I hope to let you guys kind of in on my thoughts and plans throughout my pregnancy. Like I said, MY plans, goals, thoughts, they are not set in stone and might not be what God wills for me. I pray God makes me pliable and able to be molded for his will and most importantly his Glory!
